So, Happy New Year and all that jazz.
I figure a little update is a very easy post to make at the very beginning of the year, so here I am writing this.
Now, it’s always very hard to avoid all the ‘New Year, New Me’ nonsense, and every year I am tempted to write a blog post detailing my New Years’ resolutions. But often I decide to stick to things and never stick to them and the whole post becomes a bit void.
Besides which, why do we all have to make ourselves a better person at the start of a new year, anyway? I think it’s stupid, you can choose any point in the year to ‘improve yourself’, if, for whatever reason, you figure you need improving.
Anyway, I thought, instead of listing some goals for self improvement that I won’t stick to, I’ll just announce some plans that I do have that are already in motion. A little life update, if you will.
So, as usual, I’ll make a vague promise for more blog content and all that. We take this with a pinch of salt because this is just a hobby of mine and sometimes life gets in the way. Or, rather, often life gets in the way. But I will be asking on my Instagram (@elliemaysibley) what sort of things you would like to see, so I’ll be taking all of that on board.
I’m also planning on doing Veganuary (yikes!). I’ll post about my experiences on this blog so you can look forward to that.
And finally, the most exciting thing I’d like to announce is that I’ll be writing two monthly posts for InclusionZ, a platform that aims to bridge the gap between corporations and the next generation who will be searching for work, Gen Z. They offer membership to their online community for free, which gains you access to their job board, blog (featuring posts by yours truly) and a whole bunch of extra resources to help young people gain insight into the working world. I’m a member myself, and so far, though small, this online community definitely seems like an up-and-coming useful resource.
So that’s what’s going on for me in the new year.
I’d also like to thank you guys for reading the blog, I’m feeling better about this than I have for a while (weirdly, I think I have to thank COVID, for giving me the extra time to write and focus on the blog a little more than I have ever done before).
Coolio, I’ll catch ya later.
